This past weekend I moved from Clarkston to Pontiac. I had the worst customer service of my life. Or if you want to call it that. I used this company last year but it was an excellent experience. This time it was bad in every single way! The drivers showed up and hour early, so I was not done packing. They were extremely slow. When I moved last year it was 3 1/2 hours. This year it took over 6 hours! They damaged multiple items and then tried to deny it. And the worst of all was one of the movers named mark was extremely rude and condescending. He continually blamed the other worked for his mistakes and damage. And kept saying rude and uncalled for comments. When I contacted the owner he was totally unapologetic and said it was because I was in a bad mood and stressed. He never did anything to solve the issues and at one point hung up on me ever though I never raised my voice or never cursed at him. I would recommend never ever using this company.  Worst movers ever! When I contacted the company today to make a formal complaint on the driver, the owner put me on hold, and then hung up and never returned my call.

We hired this company to move our two bedroom home from West Bloomfield, Michigan to Chicago, Illinois. I found the company while scanning the Internet for a credible out of state moving company. I was very pleased with the service.

I gave the office a call and spoke with Roger. He was very helpful and gave good tips on what necessary preparations my husband and I had to take prior to the big move day. The time he took explaining prepsrations showed that he cared about his job and my move.

The day prior to the move I received a call from a lady in the office makin sure that we were ready to go! The following day the crew arrived on time at our home in West Bloomfield ready to move us.

The move proceeded very smoothly. Everything was wrapped and the proper steps were taken to be certain our items were transported safely.

When the movers arrived in Illinois, the unload was quick and flawless. The same gentleman who loaded the truck unloaded us as well. I think this really helped things conclude smoothly.

Overall I was very happy with the service. There weren't any additional fees and any marks and scratches from the moving were few if any. I will recommend this company to anyone looking for a good moving company in IL or MI!

Silverback Moving did well over $10,000 in damage to our property, and has not responded to our claim of damages; screening phone calls and ignoring emails for 30+ days.

Schea Van Lines managed our move from Columbus to Cleveland; however, Silverback Moving showed up to execute the move. During the move, the staff ran out of shrink wrap, and could only cover our furniture with blankets. They promised to fully wrap everything when it went into storage. This did not happen. Upon arrival to our new home, pieces came off the truck unwrapped, chipped, broken and damaged beyond repair.

The boxes packed in the truck were dropped and handled in a less than professional manner; based on the significant dents, collapses and tears in the cardboard. This is beyond the damage consistent with normal handling. Upon opening the boxes, the damage to our property continued.

The added pleasure has been the discovery of multiple cockroaches in our belongings.

The worst personal violation was finding that our property had been rummaged through. We found items from latched bins scattered about the truck, purses and personal property turned inside out and searched and jewelry boxes had been ripped apart. The appearance of the truck, and the treatment of our property is nothing short of negligence.

Since our move, we have filed a claim for damages with Silverback Moving, and the owner Cam Schea. To date, we have had no response from the company in any form. They have screened our calls and emails go unanswered. I have escalated this case with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and will pursue legal action if necessary.

My son, Christopher, recently used this company to move his apartment from Chicago's north side to Bloomfield Twp, Michigan. We had found the company while searching the web for good Chicago to Detroit movers. I'm glad we found them.
I've heard of poor experiences with vanlines making delivery nearly a week or two late. This was in no way an issue for this firm. The moving crew arrived at my son's townhouse in Chicago and made delivery in Bloomfield Twp within 3 days.
Although my son's move was not very large, they still took the appropriate measures and allocated the proper amount of time to gurantee a good professional move. I will refer this company to anyone in the Detroit or Chicago area.   .

Silverback Moving Company is appalling and despicable. Their business practices are unprofessional and cowardly. The movers arrived over one hour late, and were clearly inexperienced. The dropped our boxes, damaged our mattress, and broke our dishes. The owner took no responsibility for this, nor did he hold his movers accountable for their negligence. The owner, Cameron, is completely unprofessional and ignores phone calls and emails to avoid conflict. The staff at Silverback Moving gives conflicting and misleading info regarding their business practices and policies. This company shouldn't even be in business. Stay far away from this company!  .

I had a terrible experience with this moving company.  In a local move, they managed to damage almost every piece of furniture I own.  They also left garbage that was in the moving truck from a previous move at my old house.  The truck was filthy, our couches were soiled and stained when they arrived at my new house.  When I tried to contact the manager, he failed to take any responsible, never apologized and tried to avoid the situation.  We chose this company because of their cheap prices and because they're a local company but now I know why they're so cheap.  You pay for what you get and unfortunately we had to learn the hard way. Please avoid this company or you will be sorry. .

We had a very poor experience with Silverback Moving Company.  The two movers that came to move our furniture were clearly inexperienced, and this inexperience was proven as they managed to damage the walls of both the home we were moving out of and the home we were moving into.  We had several items of furniture that were damaged.  They also tracked a tremendous amount of dirt onto my brand new white carpet and did not even pick up the dirt after themselves when they left. The manager of the company acts as if it is a huge hassle when you call to discuss your negative experience, and does not make any efforts to fix the damaged items or reimburse you.  I am now stuck paying for the damages on my walls, carpet, and furniture.  I will certainly never hire this moving company again.  Terrible.

They quote you a price and offer a discount for cash that you never get. My furniture was damaged. The man they sent out to repair the damage felt he could not do one of the pieces in a satisfactory manner. The man he refered the job to; no showed. He said he couldn't get a clear response from Jim as to who was paying for his services. I was expected to allow the original gentleman; who at least did put the bed back together correctly; they had left pieces laying on the floor. He no showed.
So almost three months later; the top of my brand new dresser looks like someone slid it down the driveway on it's top. The owner; a young blond man; is extremely rude when handling complaints. When I threatened to enter a Better Business Bureau Complaint; after waiting for more than two months for a repair; he basically told me that the BBB doesn't mean s**. He is repulsive and probably some rich man's kid.
His company has an F rating on the Better Business Bureau Website. Do not hire this company under any circumstances. I have had moves where my furniture was severly damaged. In one case the truck crashed on the way from Dallas to Tulsa. My claim was handled promptly and to my satisfaction and politely. This young man deserves to fail and the grade of F.

I've moved almost twenty times over the course of my life and my wife has moved over thirty. We've never even considered hiring a mover until this most recent move.

I called this company and received what later turned out to be a pretty accurate quote. I was a bit apprehensive about the hourly rates so I did everything I could to have it all staged so they could get in and get out as fast as possible. I had a two bedroom two bath apartment on the fifth floor and a ten by six storage unit packed floor to ceiling and wall to wall. We moved our beds and clothes on our own before the movers came in. I already had everything else I could pack boxed and labeled. They came in, started loading, wrapped all my furniture in heavy quilts and taped/shrink-wrapped them. They had EVERYTHING they could take loaded quickly and efficiently.

I was very pleased with the work of this company and would recommend them to anyone.

Our wrap around desk was gouged and pieces lost because they did not know how to remove a door to bring it in the house. Our bedroom chest now has paint scuffs from stairway railing, Entertainment unit is scratched and also with paint marks, to top it off the front legs of our patio couch were busted. Thankfully our refrigerator is ok, because they dropped that. We hired movers because we do have some pieces of furniture that are considered investment pieces; because you do not want to replace them often. We understand that problems can happen in the service industry.  However it is how the business handles the problem(s) that makes a difference. Ignoring customers, not following up like promised, and acting like you are too busy will not keep a company in business for long.

My wife and I hired this company to move our three bedroom home from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan to Rochester, New York. We had hired the firm after my wife's coworker had used the company for a similar move. She was pleased, so we thought this would be the best way to simplify the hectic moving process. We called the scheduling department and spoke with Jim. He was very thorough in the questions he asked regarding the items we had. This let me know that he knew what he was doing. It seemed as tho other van lines we had spoke to were just saying whatever to get us to schedule with them. Jim gave us a great deal of moving tips as well as information on proper preperation for days leading up to the move. This information was extremely helpful. On the day prior to the move, Jim called once again to be certain that we were ready to go and properly prepared. We were very nervous but his department was assuring the move would conclude smoothly and that we had nothing to worry about. The gentleman that came to our home the following day were polite and professional. Everything was wrapped and prepared prior to being loaded. When moving to another state the packing of the truck is crucial to preventing damage. A week later as promised our truck arrived in Rochester, New York. The unload was simple and painless. Assembly of our furniture was smooth. I was all around very pelased with the service. There were no major issues and any problems that did come about were quickly handled. I will suggest this company to any family or friend in need of a full service move.

We used Silverback Moving & Storage to move our home from Chicago, Illinois to Birmingham, Michigan. We found the company using MyMovingReviews.com. My wife called the main office and within moments was connected to an interstate coordinator responsible for scheduling and planning our move from Illinois to Michigan. After comparing prices with other moving services, we decided to use Silverback Moving & Storage. The day of the move the team of gentlemen arrived 30 minutes early and were ready to move! They padded all furniture pieces and clearly knew how to properly load the truck. Using men who knew what they were doing relieved a great deal of stress.  Our items were then placed in storage for 5 days while we waited to take delivery of our items. On the move in day all went smooth. Team was great, all was assembled well. I would suggest Silverback Moving to anyone looking for an excellent interestate mover. Thanks guys! .

My family used Silverback Moving of Grand Rapids to relocate our three bedroom locally this past weekend. Extremely pleased with the service. The team was quick, efficient, and did not leave our home until the move was complete.

All was handled very well with Silverback Moving Michigan. My sister and I will be moving my mother from Indianapolis, Indiana to Cincinnati, Ohio this upcoming June. I will be using Silverback Moving of Grand Rapids partner company, Schea Van Lines, to take care of everything. Good dependable service!

I contracted Silverback Moving & Storage in Grand Rapids to relocate my offices from Kentwood to Byron Center. The service was great and the price was very reasonable.

My office consisted of several desks, banker boxes, and rolling filing cabinet. The transfer of fixtures from the old office to the new was done with ease.

I found the service when looking for a local agent of Schea Van Lines to take care of the move. Extremely glad I did! Second time using this company's services and I will most certainly again.

Quick, efficient, and experienced! I phoned Schea Van Lines to facilitate our move from Franklin Village, Michigan to New Port, Rhode Island. Not our first time using a moving service for cross country moving. By far the best experience I've had yet. Schea Van Lines had Birmingham Michigan's Siverback Moving take care of packing and moving in Franklin Village. Schea Van Lines then took the shipment to New Port where we were serviced by their local Silverback Moving agent.  
I was extremely impressed with the overall move. The price was the best we found when shopping and the good service was far more than expected. I will not be moving again in the near future TG! But I will be suggesting Schea Van Lines and Silverback Moving & Storage! .

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY If you don't want to waste your money, if you don't want to help the movers lift furniture, if you dont expect your estimate to be over 100% off, if you expect experience and professionalism, if you don't want to be insulted, if you want a decient moving experience:DONT USE SILVERBACK MOVING COMPANY. Cameron, the salesman, came to my office to personally look at my furniture and charts. He told me that I would need 3 men and it would take 5-6 hours. He said that they would come at 2:00PM and should be driving the truck to the drop off destination, which was about 10 miles away around 6PM. They did not leave for the drop off location until 10:00PM, by Midnight it became obvious that we would be there until 6AM unless my son and my wife along with myself helpped. WE ARE SENIOR CITIZENS AND LIFTED HEAVY ITEMS JUST TO GET THE JOB DONE. I weigh 180lbs and the movers were about my size. As for experience, my son had to supervise the movers as they complained of being unable to get things in elevators that only took common sense to do. WE were not finished until after 2:00AM. What should have taken 5-6 hours took 12HOURS. When I questioned Cameron about this he said that he told me in the begining that this was a "guestimate", 100% OFF!! He told me that he felt that he deserved all of the money ($1,800) but did not need my business anyway. I'm a physician, my only mistake was not reading all of the reviews with this company. We recently used Silverback Moving of Chicago, an agent of Schea Van Lines, to move our daughter from Lincoln Park to Rochester, Michigan. The office staff were extremely informative and very detailed with their assessment.

The day of the move went great. All was handled in a quick timely manner with no inconveniences to my wife or my daughter. I will definitely recommend Silverback Moving and Schea Van Lines for any moving from Illinois to Michigan!

My husband and I used Silverback Moving in Birmingham to move a portion of our 3 bedroom home from Rochester to Traverse City earlier this summer.

We were assisted by Julie in the office during the scheduling phase. She coordinated an in-home estimate of the items going north. They gave us a flat rate of $3,600 for the overall cost of service. This flat rate even included boxes.

The day of the load all went smooth. Three gentlemen came to our home and performed perfectly. All pieces were wrapped and handled with care. Very impressed with the crew leader Joseph, he provided exceptional service. The unload was just as smooth. Time lines were kept and the gentlemen did not leave until we were completely cared for.

The move was the best I've had yet. I definitely will use this service in the future.

This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with.  I booked this company 3 weeks in advance for a 12:30pm move on a weekday only to be left waiting for 8 hrs when they finally showed up at 8:00pm they looked at our stuff and said it was to much and they were not dealing with it at this late at night and left.  Fortunately 2 men and a truck helped us on Friday and got us moved.  Do not use Silverback moving under any circumstances they are totally unprofessional, rude and should not be in business.

Excellent all around. From the time of scheduling to the actual moving day, the service far exceeded our expectations. We had phoned Silverback Moving of Chicago to schedule. After speaking with their office in Lombard, their Van Line carrier sent a rep out to take an in home inventory. They quoted us at only $3,650 to move our 2,600 sqft home from N. Barrington IL to Bloomfield MI. By far the most reasonable quote we had received. The quote held true, we were billed ony $3,760 after all services were rendered. I've used agents of van lines in the past. I was very impressed with the attention to our timeline and keeping the overall price near the estimated cost. Service far exceeded our expectations. I will happily use their services again in the Birmingham area.

Worst movers I have ever used. They damaged many items at the time of pick up. put holes in the walls fo the home I was leaving and even more holes in my brand new custom built home. Scratched floors, railings, broke furnityre an I had the compressor stolen out of a freezer that they were storing for me. They refused to call me back after calling everyday for two weeks. They wont fix my wall of my furniture. They charged me $2000 for moving my items into my house then asked for a tip bc they said they don't make enough money. they were the highest charging movers with the lowest quote. They are crooks and they were slow and very dishonest and they swore like sailors even with my kids around.

From the time I received my quote to completing the move I had an amazing experience.

To request a quote you jump on their website and fill out a form. From the information you provide they send you an electronic quote for you to review. What does this mean.. no talking to pushy salespeople (not that they would be at The Professionals, but this gives you time to think about it). Accepting the quote is also done electronically which means you don't have to seek out a fax machine or scanner.

As with any good business, they called to confirm details on my move two days prior. They also sent a follow-up email, which was great for me because my service is limited at work.

They showed up EARLY!! My appointment was between 8 and 8:30am. The truck arrived shortly after 7:30. When I told them I had some cleaning up to do they were incredibly patient and understanding. I brought down some miscellaneous items to transport in my car and one of the guys came over and helped me load them into my car!

There are no hidden fees. Seriously. They lay out any extra charges you may incur in the agreement (shrink wrapping). They let you use 10 wardrobe boxes for FREE! If you provide your own shrink wrap, they will do it for FREE.

They were fast and efficient. I didn't have a ton of stuff for them to move but they had all my stuff packed into the truck, transported, and unloaded in under 2 1/2 hours (the minimum). The lead mover even offered to help me bring in the stuff I had in my car since I had some time remaining.

Awesome experience, I will definitely use them for future relocations.

Our family used Silverback Moving of Grand Rapids agent of Schea Van Lines to relocate our 3 bedroom home from Holland, MI to Rochester, New York. Nothing was damaged. They loaded our clothes into the wardrobe boxes for us. They were courteous and seemed to enjoy their line of work. Moving is always stressful but these guys gave us the confidence we needed to make it through the afternoon. We will continue to recommend them to our friends and family for their service needs.
